This week we are invited by Ann-Christine to find images of things that are “weird and wonderfulâ€. An apt theme during Halloween times. It is not only about the weird but it has to be wonderful too. Yes, that’s the catch here, therefore, I have decided to share some of the unique sculptures having weird features with the disproportionate body, and appearance however the history they depict is just wonderful.
The sculptures were photographed during my visit to The Louvre, an art museum located on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It runs under an agreement between the UAE and France, signed in March 2007, that allows it to use the Louvre’s name until 2037, and has been described by the Louvre as “France’s largest cultural project abroad.”
The museum galleries brief the visitors about the chronological history of human creativity that explores the shared ideas and issues that have defined the common humanity from pre-history to the present. The global selection features around 600 masterpieces drawn from a growing permanent collection, and there’s a regular update in the display of art pieces with a rolling roster of world-class loans from the organizer’s international partners, this has been done so that the repeat visitors can always something new to discover.
 This picture is really special. You may call it weird but it is equally beautiful. I tried capturing the most emotional moment of this performance while my soul was totally soaked in the spellbinding ballad presented by this female artist who redefined the benchmarks of contemporary creativity. She used mirrors and every five minutes later she used to stay still for long and then she would again change the pose and would go still. That’s how she told the sad saga of a woman, caged in a self-created mirage. The performing art and exhibitions are held annually to offer exceptional artists the opportunity to create a new dimension of their potential.Â
