It is rightly said that there are many shortcuts to happiness and dance is surely one of them.

Yesterday evening I happened to attend a dance show organised by “The Yellow Door”,a group belongs to the famous Maharashtra newspaper “LokmatTimes”. The owners are Darda family who keep on organising such events for Aurangabad citizens. The workshop was part of summer entertainment package for young ones of the city.

This five to seven days workshop is actually an initiative of very famous Indian choreographer, Shaimak Davar, noted as one of the first to bring contemporary jazz and western forms of dance to India. He is known as the guru of contemporary dance in India as well as “the king of Bollywood dance.”

Shaimak called his training program “It’s summer…..let’s funk it up ! ” and students really surprised everyone including their parents by giving electrifying live performances.

They actually funked it up with their moves, expressions and attractive costumes. I was admiring them and decided to take up dance classes soon. After all it is so much fun !!!

I enjoyed dance performances by juniors. Seniors too performed so well and received admiration for their efforts.

Curvecous Roads of Shimla

I have been travelling on the roads of Shimla which are curvaceous and takes you the most scenic locations.

Shimla is situated in northern India, is the capital of Indian state Himachal Pradesh.

No wonder Britishers had declared this town as their summer capital. The British feel can be clearly felt as soon as you land up there.

More on this amazing place in coming posts. Enjoy the curves and also check my post on flowers of Shimla

Marilyn says that anything looks abstract if you shoot close enough. I have tried few shots of my window mesh and its iron frame and I think they can fit in this abstract category.

The feature of a rock hill looks abstract to me

The working model of a solar heater made with empty plastic bottles, prepared by one of my students gives the abstract feel using the zoom.

Whisper of nature….

I am in the lap of nature right now. Travelling and clicking photos like crazy. I had been missing it so much for last three months. The weather is so good here… if the wind is whispering in my ears…. ” Hey , where were you all these months? ”
Enjoy these pictures and follow my blog as I will be sharing more in coming days 🙂

In response to the daily prompt: Whisper

No dissapointment

Who says boys can’t cook as efficiently    as girls? My son tried cheese burst pizza with lots of cheese and chicken salami toppings and it was so delicious ! He made the dough on his own, prepared his own base sauce and loaded it with herbs. It was a big hit and we were so excited to see him cooking.  No disappointment for not having a daughter as my sons do everything what a daughter can do in the kitchen.

I love early morning drives especially when the roads, trees and valleys are covered with fog. At times when there is thick fog you can only see as far as your headlights but you can drive for miles that way, even reach your destination too.

I always look for the opportunity to see how the first rays of sun removes the fog and everything looks so fresh and crystal clear in the same manner the light of knowledge removes darkness.

That’s the best time to enjoy the long drives. No traffic, no long queues on toll gates and no need to switch on AC of the car since you can just roll down the window panes to enjoy the cool morning breeze blowing.

One needs to be careful and alert while driving on hills but at the same time it is one of the thrilling experience to climb curvaceous roads in foggy weather.

Make sure that you don’t mistaken fog with smog. Fog and smog should not be confused as they both are separate in colour.images-15

images-15Excess of everything is bad, same is the case with fog. You want sunlight at the end of a romantic day. The warmth of sun rays is like a boon for human beings.

So pack your bags and enjoy foggy drives folks 🙂
