Rains, Wind Storm and the Tree Toppled

It’s raining like cats and dogs. Thunder storms, evening showers, strong winds, toppling of  trees and bent electric polls are common in India where I live.

No doubt this is the best time around when everything turns green. Weather is so pleasant and the cool breeze blows day and night but the rains bring agony of floods, crop damage, traffic jams and long power cuts due to trees falling on electric wires and poles. DSC_9779

Day before yesterday while I was enjoying my hot cup of coffee gusting winds forced the branches to sway back and forth. Soon the strong wind changed into storm followed by heavy rains, Quickly I rushed out in the garden with my camera to click few photos for my blog.

I heard a loud crack. The tallest tree at the backyard of my house was thrown by wind and it fell on the ground. As it toppled the limb tangled in telephone wire. I watched everything in shock. I knew I was out of connectivity as my landline was dead now, making no sound, silence…..DSC_9780

Today my landline and broadband connection was functional again, I was desperate to log in after migraine attack. I was in pain for 36 hours. Many many thanks for giving me good wishes, valuable advices and for including me in your prayers. I am overwhelmed to receive the love and concern from my most cherished world, the bloggers community, the readers and faithful friends. Love you all. I am much better now. Looking forward to read your posts.

Any Advice for Migraine? Suffering badly

Businesswoman with intense stress and painful headache. Woman in job problems.

It’s BAD !  Terribly bad ! Since day before yesterday I’m suffering from this acute pain of migraine. I’m in bad shape.

As you all know it is a recurrent throbbing headache that typically affects one side of the head and is often accompanied by nausea and disturbed vision.

Sorry friends for not liking or reading your posts, now you know I just can’t read or type anything.

I have given lot of advices to migraine patients on what to do and what not to do but somehow when it comes to me I cannot follow it. It comes so secretly that by the time I realize and react I can feel severe pain along with disturbed vision. Eating and sleeping is out of question.

It drains me completely. Doctors has advised me not to sit on laptop or smart phones, surf net and read on computer. How I will do blogging, I wonder. I know many friends including golden oldies who do so many things on computer at this age. They spend hours sitting and working on computer. Doctor tell me it is harmful for eyes and overall health.

Right now it is migraine which is troubling me a lot. Please give any advice to make me get rid of this throbbing headache….

I want to read, write, type more and yet remain healthy. Oh God, Why have I these frequent attacks?

Snapshots Stories: A bird’s eye view

DSC05370Where thou sitting to take rest ?

Why doth sleeping in thy nest?

Thee a bird, wild and gentle spirit,

Soft notes spreading across the mist

Making heavenly sound, in the twilight

Sitting on a branch like a tired child

Hearing the silence, thou seat on high

Softly looking at the slumbering skyDSC05359

Nature in Black & White

This time Paula’s Black & White sunday theme is NATURAL – it can be nature in general, human nature or anything in between. Before I could think of anything else, Marilyn Armstrong came out with a lovely response to this one. She shared her naturally monochrome photographs of winters in New England. My post is inspired by her remarkable work.

IMG_0723These photos show nature in black and white and I haven’t processed or used any effects while capturing the shots. Enjoy the snow-covered peak in naturally monochrome. Toys Story: Outdoor Connection

To be honest I wasn’t fascinated with dolls and toys as a child. I used to remain outdoors most of the time , loved to play sports and games with friends. Playing with toys was always a second option.

There were dolls, cars, doctor set, clay moulds, kitchen set and building blocks in my collection of toys. I even cooked veggies in one of my toy wok made of steel gifted by my aunt ! I had a red piggy bank which had a special place in my room till I was in class 10th. All said and done I was happier cycling along the canal, trekking the hill feature with our gang of society children.

As a child I enjoyed running around the trees with my friends in the society park. We assembled and play merry go round every evening. Girls used to bring their badminton rackets, frisbee, skipping ropes and boys were all for cricket. Mothers generally liked to watch their children playing and enjoying while fathers had lively conversation on current affairs.

Those days children were not enticed by internet and no one had heard about the social media bug in India. kids were more disciplined, receptive and interactive. The idiot box aka T.V. had not turned them in couch potatoes. Parents didn’t had to deal with obese stuff. I used to get a doll, a toy car or board games as birthday presents since there were no video / PS4 games in existence.

Now as a mother of two grown up boys I can say that sky is the limit when it comes to presents. Market is flooded with unbelievable options. People are rich man!

My sons had great collection of sports cars, guns and bayblades. All sizes of Shopkins as well as Funskool Superman toys adorned the showcases of my elder son’s room. He was so fascinated with action figures that he started imagining himself to be one of them. I was so scared at one point of time that he might not jump out of the window to check whether he could fly like Superman or not.soulnspirit

Thankfully the craze faded with time and understood the difference between real and fantasy. They have donated all their toys to an orphanage except this superman and a sports car which is very dear to my son no.1

Now both my boys have grown up, not interested in any toy story but still kids at heart ! They want to fly in the sky of opportunities and want to be superhuman beings.
