The Mirror crack’d

You wake up one morning to a world without mirrors. How does your life — from your everyday routines to your perception of yourself — change?

All mirrors are removed

How am I supposed to move?

Who will pamper my ego?

I can not get ready and go.

Physical appearance so loud

Who will fill me with proud?

What will happen to my vanity?

How will I treat my anxiety ?

All these years you looked after me

You gave me a feel of a flawless me

Now I have to live without you

Not that easy to forget you

You are witness to my fears

My insecurities and tears

I am myself in front of you

My secrets are known to you.

Nature has more options

Look ! there are water mirrors

Lakes will show my soul reflections

Draw me towards spiritual connections

Time has come I enhance my knowledge

By sitting near this tranquility and pledge

Mirror of nature is there for soul searching

So what if man made mirrors are breaking

tranquilly at its best

  1. This is so thought provoking. After I read it, I realized how much I look to the mirror, for some kind of guidance, some kind of reassurance and it is definitely a sign of our society how beauty and looks are always so often promoted. This was a wonderful post, Rashmi! Hope you have a wonderful week, my dear one!

Have you ever thought about Why slowing down is so important in life? Life is not only to run and chase the deadlines and create a million-dollar fortune. Slowing down is an art, indeed a therapy to become more mindful of your blessings of life. It means to be more present at the moment. To eliminate the stress of our lives and enjoy the simple joys that we otherwise tend to miss out on. It is a soul awakening to feel eternal happiness. This verse highlights the need of slowing down in life before it is too late.
