Sky Walk On Bamboo: Weekly Photo Challenge: Descent

These images were clicked during our trip to MAWLYNNONG VILLAGE “The Cleanest Village in Asia” a picture perfect one.

The village is at a distance of around 90 km from Shillong, the road leading up to it has some of the most panoramic and breathtaking views in the country. Nestled in the pristine East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, along the India-Bangladesh border.

This hamlet has more than 80 houses, which are mostly made of bamboo. This bamboo stilt house attracts the tourists the moment they enter this cleanest village.

My sons enjoyed the view from the top, though they were scared walking on bamboo path, hesitant to leave the support all along 🙂

For nature lovers, one day trek offers all the fun and adventure in an eco-friendly environment. I will add some more images and description about the live root bridges located near this village in my next post under travel category.
