The Young and The Rested: Hopefully Soon

2770057-231801-thank-you-vector-stampI am injured, tired and fatigued. My right hand index finger is fractured.

It happened last Thursday and since then I could not move my plastered hand, my laptop was taken away by my husband so that I might not try to move my fingers as the doctor has advised me not to.

I was tempted to leave comments on your posts but it pained like hell while I tried to logged in.

My right hand index finger got twisted in an attempt to lift the box kept on a high rack.

It will remain immobile for two more days and hopefully I will be back soon.

Something Happened today……

As I checked my wp app on mobile I found a comment in notification box

I just realized it’s been almost a week since I heard from you, so I dropped by to say hi!! I hope you are alright and just on vacation or something fun.

Tears rolled down and my throat was choked. My heart felt so much love for Marilyn. Those who know her, also know her amazing ability of connecting and commenting. She writes such genuine comments that I feel as if she is so close to me…yet so far ! I wish one day we both will chat for long hours in her stylish and warm living room and Garry will make coffee for us while her canines would keep me alert  ( I’m scared of dogs ! But hers are so cute )

In today’s world where your own siblings, children and relatives check your facebook status to know your well-being and just don’t bother to make a phone call, a gesture like this means a lot to me. Cannot express in words how good I felt reading this warm note. I mean what else you want in life?

People often ask me, “Why do you blog? Do you earn money out of it ? Why do you waste time on people whom you never met  before nor the chances are there in future?” Now they know the answer. I don’t earn big bucks here.

I earn friends and I EARNED QUITE A LOT OF THEM ! Love you all who missed me.

I will be back with a bang. My husband was away on official work and has joined me today evening. I requested him to type few lines for me and you know what ! I would surely feel energized and rejuvenated after visiting my favorite blogs so here I come !!!

  1. Cheers on your reason for writing! But, yeah pls take it easy and give yourself time to heal, we’ll all be here eagerly waiting to hear from you!

..On the other hand I can say lots of things and you won’t be able to point lecture me heh! 😛

    1. Hi, I love this community and so difficult to stay away from you all. I am better now and can type with left hand though time consuming but anything for you guys 🙂

  2. Be patient. I’m glad it’s nothing more serious than a broken finger. Maybe it’s a hint from the universe that you need to take it easy for a while. We’re off for a few weeks shortly, but before we go, there’s a lot to take care of. I’ll check in, when I can, but I like you need a break and am going to try very hard to actually take one 🙂 You be good. Rest and heal. I’ll be back regularly at the end of the month.

    1. I am far better and moving my healed finger. It was a such a big void in my life in absence of this interaction with those who have made a special place in my life. This post was a spontaneous reaction of surging emotions. Take care and lots of love. Keep inspiring.

  3. Thank you for letting us know, Rashmi! I appreciate so much of your effort. I thought of you a few time during the weekend, I just assumed you were on vacation… Sorry to hear about your injury, it takes much patience, but do take care. 🙂 (((HUGS)))

    1. Your warm hugs has a healing power Amy that I am again back into action. I missed you all while I was away for this forced break. Looking forward to enjoy your energetic posts and lovely locations mentioned.

  4. Wonderful post, thoughtful and engaging. Family is not neccessarily about bloodline but about those whom we reach out to and those who reciprocate the gesture :). Sorry about your injury. Get well real soon.

  5. What a beautiful tribute to Marilyn, and to all blogging friends.

I sympathize with you – I have no middle joint in the ring finger on my right hand, having totally pulverized the joint playing softball in my younger, wilder days (never try to catch a fly ball in the hand that isn’t wearing the glove!). I remember how hard it was to do anything since I’m right-handed. The six weeks of recovery seemed more like six years! (But the bright side was that my broken finger managed to bring my husband-to-be to my attention – he was so kind to me at work because I was injured and still trying to do my job as a typist!)

Don’t let anyone tell you, oh it’s just a broken finger. It’s a painful injury. Let your husband wait on you for awhile.

    1. Though I could not reply to you on such a thoughtful comment but I followed your advise sincerely and you know what? It worked ! My husband took good care of me and did many jobs which were supposed to be done by me. It was painful indeed and thankfully it is healing up fast.

      1. Aw, thanks. When I started here on WP, I swore I would never give advice to anyone. Now I’m glad I broke my own rule and that it was helpful to you. It’s good to hear that you’re healing quickly.

    1. I am so fortunate to be part of this group of kind hearted people and now my finger has also healed up to a certain extent. I can’t express my gratitude in words for the love and belongingness you have shown towards me. Thanks once again.

  6. I tend to be busy when up at Mom’s but was extra busy this 4 day weekend. So sorry about your broken finger, Rashmi. ♡ ow! 🙁
Mom had therapy, I went to it with her. When she needs to use bathroom we have to wait for nurse’s aide to come. She shattered her hip 2 weeks ago. Surgery was on a Sunday then. It has been very painful and glad she is at least feeling better while immobilized in a wheelchair for 8 more weeks. They get her up only once a day out of chair to walk 10 steps with walker. I took her outside to see ducks and geese. We sat and watched sunset 3 nights. 🙂

    1. I hope your mother is recovering fast and the injury has healed up. I am so touched by your love and warmth as a daughter and it is really admirable how you are looking after her. Not many children are taking care of their aging, ailing parents now a days. My wishes and lots of love to you. I am better and can move my finger now.

  7. I am so sorry to hear what happened, one of the worst things to happen to a good and interesting blogger. Glad you found a way to let us know and I so hope that you are well on the way to improvement. A warning for me not to lift heavy boxes, although I usually leave that to Mr. Swiss. I will also be away for a week at the end of September and will not be able to look in, but I still have two weeks to blog. I think we are a nice little group here so look forward to reading your escapades in India.

    1. Good afternoon, I am much better now. I cannot imagine our world without boxes but yes now onwards I will be always careful dealing with them. I cherish our bond and so glad to be part of kind hearted & experienced bloggers who paint the canvas of their lives in such different shades. I have written yesterday’s prompt to start again. Thanks for the wishes.

  8. Awh Rashmi, this was so beautifully expressed. I was absent from blogging world for about a week myself and I too sometimes question to why I’m putting so much of my time into blogging and you gave me a perfect answer to that. I’ve met so many amazing people here with whom I’ve found lasting connections. The amount of love and understanding one receives here is not exchangeable with anything in this world.

I wish you a speedy recovery and much love,
    Zee <3

    1. It is all about the love of my fellow bloggers which brings me back to these pages. I am an emotional freak, write from heart and take pride in my connection with you all. Thank you so much for the kind words.
