Daily Prompt: Â Secret Admirers
You return home to discover a huge flower bouquet waiting for you, no card attached. Who is it from — and why did they send it to you?
One last look at the mirror……..eyeliner perfect ! Hairdo perfect ! Dress looking great ! Happy and gleeful I applied one more  coat of  lip gloss for that luxurious feel. All set to leave for my work  I picked up my purse, kissed my son who was making his school bag and grabbed the car keys.
” Why in heaven I can’t get ready in time ” I blabbered while opening the door and what I saw outside was a huge bouquet of  vibrant roses lying at the door step. Overwhelmed by the surprise I dashed inside leaving the bouquet as fast as my legs could carry me.
” I can’t believe this ! You got me flowers on my birthday ! hugged him,” You were so cool when you wished me in the morning.” squeezed his hand  affectionately, ” You made my day sweetheart ! kissed him, I am not going to school today. ” Let’s go for a movie ,” I declared.
Totally zapped and embarrassed by this sudden outburst of love and excitement ,my husband humbly submitted his unawareness about the bouquet. It was bit disappointing to know  though we never made it an essential feature of any special occasion to bring flowers or gifts to wish each other.
” Who must have shown this beautiful gesture to me ?” contemplating all possible options I went about searching for the gift card pinned to the bouquet , wherein I was taken back by motley group of students from my class who actually  brought it  and kept there. Looking at my perplexed face one of the girl, Sanya came forward saying, ” We got it for you Miss. Happy Birthday. We thought of giving surprise to you.”
Deeply touched  and moved by the warmth and love of my students I thanked them for such a lovely gift on my special day. They made me realize the worth of being a teacher  and I am proud to be one !!!
Every birthday I receive cards with their  favorite message written:
Roses are red violets are blue
O my teacher I love you.
Have you  ever received a card having somewhat similar words  from your son,daughter ,sister or a friend ? It would be nice to know your feelings.
