DAILY PROMPTÂ
Clothes and toys, recipes and jokes, advice and prejudice: we all have to handle all sorts of hand-me-downs every day. Tell us about some of the meaningful hand-me-downs in your life.
I love reading books. Books are my best friends. They entertain me, guide me, transcends me to a different world, fulfill me and direct me towards spirituality. Some religious books act as a fuel for my soul. A glimpse of those books can be seen in a picture below.
I don’t hesitate to buy them from book fairs, Street markets, even from friends on discounted price and “Big book sale” in shops. Over a period of time I have managed to develop a small library in my house. These books are my meaningful hand-me-downs in my life. I can beg, borrow to read freshly pressed from a colleague.  Couple of times picked up few from my neighbours  who were not willing to pack and carry their old collection of fiction to next station. I never mind being a second owner of a classic literary work or a colourful travelogue.
Few things never lose the shine and value and can be great hand-me -downs, books are one of them.
I BELIEVE BOOKS CAN BE PASSED DOWN FROM ONE GENERATION TO ANOTHER.

Absolutely! Books are “the quietest and most constant of companions”
Yes, you said it ! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Absolutely agree..actual books are much better than e-books!
Yes it is so true… I am glad to see you here on my pages. 🙂
My favourite. ..books! Did not you love reading Rashmi …what are you reading now??😊☺.
Yes I do. Currently I am reading Pranic Healing by Master Choa Kok Sui. It is a gift from my sister in law who is deeply into it.
Books can help us escape, use our imagination and inspire us to do more, be part of the world, too!
Books are proof that someone out there loves us. The library should always be the most comfortable room in the house. After all, when you’re in the library you’re surrounded by friends. And I love your statement about books being passed down. That’s one of the few flaws of having e-readers, the books are only licensed and can’t be inherited. That’s just a shame.
