Recently I visited  Kutch district of Gujrat state in India to enjoy the vibrancy and energy of this colorful state. The moment I saw the prompt I knew what I was going to search for. The eleventh image was showing beautiful tent city in Rann of Kutch near Rann Utsav location. So here are some pictures from the state of colour, vigour and culture blended perfectly with semi-arid landscape of glistening white Rann/ desert, looks spectacular under full moon along with dance, music, art and craft. Enjoy 🙂
It is rightly said, “Gujarat never fails to amaze and its amazement lies in a celebration.” This celebration is actually called the “Rann Utsavâ€.  It has the largest tent city where tourists from all over the world enjoy the luxurious stay.
I found it one of the most amazing tourist destination to travel. It is the place to explore with with friends as well as family. One can easily spend three to four days to have a pulse of Kutch Culture. Handicrafts, outdoor activities, hospitality of the locals, rendezvous with artists make this desert carnival a perfect holiday destination.
The smiling silver-bangled women wearing layers of hand-embroidered appliqué lehengas (long skirts) or turbaned, mustachioed men in loin clothes and short skirts, showing their stuff win your hearts at once.
Several scenes in Salman Rushdie’s Booker Prize winning novel Midnight’s Children take place in the Rann of Kutch, including a scene where the protagonist faints from heat stroke in the Rann’s brutal climate. This place has its own  alluring charm, also known as Land of illusions. So what are you waiting for? It is Rann calling !
