A Spiritual Treasure

1002

This book is my all time favorite and is there on my side table so that whenever I feel like I can draw the inspiration from this spiritual soul. Today’s prompt talks about the similar task therefore sharing it once again.

Off the shelf

Take a look at your bookcase. If you had enough free time, which book would be the first one you’d like to reread? Why?

No doubt it will be “Autobiography of a Yogi “ because of its shear spiritual appeal. In fact I would say this book is a spiritual classic which transients me into a  miraculous world of yogis and  their healing powers. It enlightens ,heals, transforms my soul into a “Light” as well as provides a deep understanding of spiritual Hindu religion. I quickly add here that Paramahansa Yogananda, the author of this one of the best sellers all over the world has shown deep respect for the path of all truth seekers and gives them a message of hope when he calls Jesus as a “ Galilean Master”.

The book provides a beautiful combination of conventional yoga and Vedic philosophy. Yogananda’s journey in search for his guru and related mysteries of life and nature are so fascinating to read.  The story telling is very gripping and the unbelievable tales of yogic abilities, seeking truth are so mesmerizing  that I would reread it time and again.

After all who doesn’t want to be enlightened by a Guru?
