For this week’s Cee’s Black & White Challenge the topic is Trees.
I was waiting for this topic ! It feels good when you get an opportunity to share those pics which remain in archives for some reasons. This set of pictures are one of them I took at one of the misty mornings while we were travelling through western ghats to reach Gujrat.
It was a cold, misty day though we were comfortable in our car with heater on. We had left at the crack of dawn, though the view was beautiful but the valley was bleak, nothing was visible except the trees along with the highway railing. I took pictures and was amazed to see the absence of green and blue color. They were naturally black and white to look at.

Looking at these pictures I realized that no one does better processing than mother nature. What’s say?
Enjoy another naturally monochrome image from Diu Islands trip. Have a good day.

I love when nature makes the monochrome! These are great pictures, with lots of texture, mood, depth. Capturing the mist is a lot more difficult that it looks. I know because I’ve done it, but it was’t easy. The camera really wants to cut through the mist and you have to cajole it to do as you wish! Wonderful pictures!
You always amaze me with your deep knowledge of camera & photography. Thank you so much for valuable feedback.
Great photos of these trees. Beautiful branches you captured through the mist. The first and the second last are my very favorites. 🙂
This was a different scene to capture. Nothing was visible in mist and photos were all hazy. I changed the settings and then the results were satisfactory.
That’s great, you know how to change the setting, I’d just give it up. 🙂
O come on Amy ! I can’t believe this. You are too modest while saying this. We all know how good you are with camera.
It’s true, I haven’t been able to capture through fog… We rarely get a foggy day. 🙂
Those photos are so hauntingly beautiful !The first one is right out of some thriller movie. Amazing pictures 🙂
I like the trees but my favorite is of the water behind the island trees. Silhouettes of trees always are beautiful as your photos show this.
Thanks Robin. I admire your sense of beauty. Have a good day.
