Present me was excited to meet the younger me
We exchanged notes, ordered coffee, she was youthful than me
She laughed at me, I was buying the return gifts
Still cooking, baking, decorating, packing the gifts?
Now it is high time you order Mc.Donalds, Pizza Hut things
Why do you want to do everything home made?
When people are more than willing to give ready made
I smiled, picked my packet and said in soft tone
Things are available I know, but I like it this way
His friends wait for this feast on this special day
They play, eat, run together, sing and sway
Happy cheerful faces, giggles, fun all the way
I get satisfaction, his smile is my reward
So what if I have to struggle a bit
To find a most exciting return gift
Worth the bonding which I share
With my brat at the end of the day
