Gone are those days when I used to feel heat
Deadline coming near, my heart used to beat
I am much calmer and easy going now
Don’t succumb under pressure somehowÂ
I have run, done enough to prove my capabilities
Shown my talent, a  perfectionist, tested my abilities
Times have changed, pressure doesn’t kick me
I do things at my own pace, this is a new cool me 🙂
If there is a delay, all hell will not break lose
If I don’t meet the deadline, I will politely excuse
I will try my best to achieve my goal
But that would not become the sore
Surely not a question of life and death
I work best if I take interest

I remember once, early in my career, being all upset about an upcoming deadline. My boss looked at me and said “Relax. It’s only software.” He was right. It wasn’t life and death after all 🙂
Somehow I’m not comfortable when I feel pressure. Nothing to beat a healthy environment where one is motivated to perform better each time.
I don’t know what to say. I am speechless, cause this is something that has been bothering me for quite sometime. Your poem has touched the very same dilemma on my mind. I am going to take this as an advice and breathe. 🙂
Thank you! This is really a great piece! 🙂
I am glad to know that my lines touched you somewhere. Thanks for the encouragement 🙂

You’re welcome dear 🙂
I am still waiting for an explanation for deadline. I think I omitted it from my vocabulary a few years ago.
Good to have peace of mind. How does it make difference after all? Is it something to do with age or may be one feels saturated at some stage of life and says ‘no more stress’
Oh you have achieved nirvana.
I would like to reblog this please !
Susie
Yes, you can say so. I won’t mind reblogging
I have reblogged it- thank you !
Taking everything as it comes and enjoying life one day at a time, that’s the best way I found indeed to enjoy life ::
Well said Andy ! You know how to kiss the song of life.
I do try ^.^/

Ah yes, we do think alike. http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/07/18/retirement/
A good reminder…sometimes I have to remind myself that it’s just work – the politics, deadlines, annoying characters in the office – there are more important things in life.
You hit the nail ! Deadlines will come and go. We have better things to do in life.
Yep, we all have better things to do in life, I will remember that. Thanks Rashmi, and have a great week ahead 🙂

Deadlines…,
Insightful! I’m not good at “take it easy” and used to be worst. Thank you for the reminder! 🙂
It is necessary at times. I feel relaxed now.
